The specie of timber used in the manufacture of fences at Ozark Timber is selected for it's adaptability to pressure treating, structural strength, and weatherability.

The whole tree is subjected to a series of processes from sawing, drying, ripping, and sizing to the proper dimension before being placed in a huge pressure vessel for proper treatment by the empty cell process.  The empty cell process provides for impregnation of wood cells, with a relatively large amount of Cu Nap and subsequent withdrawal of the preservative, to produce a pretty fence, adequately preserved.

This is obtained by injecting air when the wood is locked inside the pressure cylinder in a manner to retain the trapped air inside the wood.  The Cu Nap continues to be forced in the wood cells by pressure, until the desired absorption is obtained.  The pressure is released and the excess solution is returned to storage.  The trapped air forces excess preservative from the wood.  A final vacuum is drawn to hasten the recovery process and dry the surface of the wood.

Ozark Timber's Cu Nap is a wood preservative containing special treating oil, copper and naphthenic acid.  When blended and properly placed in wood fence, it not only retards fungi and insects but the oil enhances the wearability by extending the life of the wood fiber.

When the wood is first removed from the treating vessel and installed, it is dark green in color.  After only a few weeks the wood turns a beautiful copper color.

Cu Nap is a non-hazardous wood preservative and is safe to use around humans, animals and plants.
